ACOBA-EC Hosts Annual East Coast Cricket Festival.

TOPIC : 6^th ANNUAL EAST COAST CRICKET FESTIVAL

The 5th Annual East Coast Cricket Festival was held on June 11th at the Tall Timbers Park in South Brunswick , New Jersey with the participation old boys' cricket team representing Ananda College , Nalanda College , Royal College , St. Thomas ' College, Trinity College , Maris Stella College , St. Peter's College and St. Joseph 's College.

The event organized by the Ananda College Old Boys’ Association East Coast Chapter has undoubtedly established itself as the biggest and most looked forward to Sri Lankan community event in the East Coast of USA. This year's was once again a grand success with more than 300 guests attending from all East Coast States of USA . They were entertained by "Papara" music from a live band; food from half a dozen stalls selling everything from Lumprice and Hydrabadi biryani, to Hoppers; and of course great competitive cricket matches.

Distinguished Anandian Prof. Unil Perera presented the Col. Henry Steel Olcott Challenge Cup to the skipper of the winning Royal College team, Ruchira Jayasooriya and the runners up prize was given by Amb Jaliya Wickramasuriya top the St. Joseph’s Team.

The tournament gives area social organizations an opportunity to showcase further their missions. This year the SLAMANA, the Sri Lankan medical doctors association, organized free medical checkups.
