Ananda College Colombo is the Premier Buddhist boys school in Sri Lanka with a current student population of over 5000 from kindergarten to GCE Advanced level.

An educational organisation called the Buddhist Theosophical Society was formed in Sri Lanka under the leadership of Colonel Henry Steele Olcott who was a founder member of the Theosophical Society of New York. The Buddhist Theosophical Society (BTS) opened a number of schools in different parts of the country for the higher education of Buddhist children. In the year 1886 the first of those schools was opened on a modest scale with 37 students in a private house in Colombo. Later this school was named Ananda College after Arahant Ananda, the most devoted disciple of the Buddha. Since then Ananda has had a proud tradition of producing students who have served not only Sri Lanka but other countries in the World with distinction.
Ananda College World Wide Network (AnandaNet) was founded in August 1997. We have very talented and distinguish professionals from around the world in this network to help our good old Ananda.

The purpose of this page is to bring together all of our school friends from all over the world and to help bring out our future heroes from our Ananda College. Help doesn't need to be only financial, it can be a public talk on your specialty during your vacation in Sri Lanka. Or you can sponsor a small project with a group of your friends.

We encourage all of you to join hands with us. If you already have a group or an association, please keep your identity and assign one of you as the coordinator for your group.There may be several groups in one country. If you would like some space on this web page to publish some information about your association let us know.

These coordinators are simply a connection between our school and you. They can have direct contact with the Ananda College and it's administrators. If you would like to help any school programs financially, we can provide information on such programs. If you or your group want to sponsor such a program you can collect contribution within your group and send to the correct people or one of your members can visit the college to handle that.
