Ananda College honoured 15 of its old boys elected to the 12th parliament at the last general election.

Most of them belonged to the ruling UNF and some belonged to the PA, CP and JVP.

Leading the team was Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya, minister and deputy leader of the UNP.

With him there were four ministers: Imthiaz Bakir Markar, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Suranimala Rajapakshe and Rohita Bogollagama. Opposition leader Ratnasiri Wickremanayake was also present with them.

Deputy chairman of committees Siri Andrahennadi, former Sri Lankan cricket captain Arjuna Ranatunga, Bharata Lakshman Premachandra, Laxman Wijemanne, Bimal Ratnayake, Achala Jagoda, Sanjeewa Kaviratne, Ranjith Madduma Bandara and Raja Collure were other parliamentarians honoured by the school.
