ananda beat the defending champions royal college 25 points to 10 points to clinch the boys under-20 title in the public schools tennis championships concluded at the ntc courts, green path recently.
the anandians won the first singles through lahiru jayasuriya who defeated j.jayasekera 9-2. in the first doubles match the ananda pair of samitha ranaweera and asitha attygala beat the combination of anushka polonowita and ashane jayasekera 9-5.
in the second singles ananda's neshan gunasekera beat duminda wanasundera 9-5. however royal took the second doubles match through the combination of dasun siripala and anuradha siriwardena who defeated the pair of roshan sooriyabandara and dhanuka karunananda 9-5. royal also clinched the third singles with dhevan peiris outplaying kithsiri amarakoon 9-0.
